Title 14 of the Maine Revised Statutes Annotated governs a variety of civil matters including those between landlords and tenants. Within Chapter 14, the laws regarding security deposits, rental property and forcible entry and detainer, otherwise known as evictions, outline numerous rights and obligations of the parties.
